The Hardwick Law Firm, LLC is a Missouri limited liability company which devotes approximately 90 percent of its legal services to municipal finance and development issues. The Firm was founded by Herbert E. Hardwick in 1991. It is one of the first minority law firms to be ranked in The Bond Buyer's top 10 bond counsel in the State of Missouri. Since 1995 the Firm has been consistently ranked within the top four among all bond counsel firms in the State of Missouri for volume of municipal bonds upon which it has rendered legal opinions. The Firm has been ranked among the top 25 bond counsel firms in the Midwest by The Bond Buyer.

Historically, the Hardwick Law Firm has principally focused on serving as bond counsel to the issuer in municipal finance transactions. Currently, the Firm serves as bond counsel or co-bond counsel to several issuers including the City of Kansas City, Missouri, the City of St. Louis, Missouri, the City of Chicago, Illinois and several other issuers. Financings related to the three entities referenced above exceeded several billion dollars over the past ten (10) years.

It represents a host of state and local agencies including the Missouri Housing Development Commission (“MHDC”); Environmental Improvement Energy and Resource City (“EIERA”); the Metropolitan Sewer District (“MSD”), St. Louis, Missouri; and the Bi-State City (“Bi-State”) of St. Louis, Missouri. The Firm also provides and serves as bond counsel on transactions outside the State of Missouri. In addition to serving as bond counsel the Hardwick Law Firm has extensive experience serving as underwriters counsel, disclosure counsel, and issuers counsel on complex bond financing. This experience has allowed the Firm’s principals to provide greater expertise to its clients when serving as bond counsel.
